This is a translation of a translation of Paul d’Holbach’s brilliant satire Theologie Portative, or an abridged dictionary of the Christian religion from 1768. I’ll be going through it alphabetically from the manuscript, so the entries may seem out of order. Don’t fear. With around 700 definitions, it’ll take a little while to get through all of them, and to complicate things, I’ve decided to expand on the theme, adding new entries.
